As one of the finest Asian restaurants in Inverness, Indian Ocean is more than deserving of its TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence. Open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, the restaurant, which is situated on Academy Street, has built a fine reputation on account of the quality of its food and the sheer range of traditional dishes to be found on the menu. Only the freshest ingredients are used in the preparation of its signature offerings, with the Indian Ocean’s chefs omitting additives where possible. You might not be able to tell that just from looking at the well-presented bhindi masalas and sizzling tandooris, but rest assured, it’s all good. While you browse the menu, the staff will be more than happy to recommend a suitable option – and you may welcome the advice given some of the exotic contemporary dishes on offer. Slay The Dragon, for instance, is a Mysore delicacy consisting of pineapple-flavoured honey-glazed chicken cooked over charcoal in the tandoori oven. The tuna-fish kebab, meanwhile, hits the spot with its simple, bold flavours. Naturally, there’s room for the usual curry house staples: zingy curries, samosas, pakoras, bhajis and naan. Finally, the Indian Ocean offers a takeaway service, for those who’d rather tuck in from the comfort of their own sofa.

Had an excellent meal here this evening; great food and good service. I'd recommend the tandoori rainbow trout which was fresh, delicious and great flavours. I've spent three weekends in Inverness now over the course of the last few years and this is by far the best eatery here I've found so far.
